Academic Support For The School Year

Back-To-School Success Starts Here

July 6, 2026

A new school year is a fresh start for students and families. Along with school supplies and new routines, students also need strong foundational skills and confidence to truly begin the year successfully. Huntington Learning Center Evansville provides individualized academic support options for students who need help catching up, keeping up, or getting ahead.

Academic Support for the School Year

Students can receive support in a variety of core subjects and academic skills, including:

 Reading

 Math

 Writing

 Study skills

 Homework support

 ADHD support

 Subject tutoring

 SAT/ACT test prep

Each student begins with a Comprehensive Academic Evaluation, which helps identify current skill levels, learning gaps, and the best starting point for instruction. This ensures every student receives a personalized plan built around their specific academic needs—not a one-size-fits-all approach.

MicroSchool (K–8): A Personalized Learning

Environment

Looking for a different school experience? The MicroSchool program is designed for students in kindergarten through 8th grade who benefit from a more structured, supportive, and individualized learning setting.

Unlike traditional classrooms, MicroSchool focuses on meeting students where they are academically and helping them build strong foundational skills at their own pace.

Key features include:

 Small 6:1 student-to-teacher ratio

 Personalized learning plans based on academic assessment results

 Daily academic instruction with built-in tutoring support

 Focus on closing skill gaps while supporting grade-level learning

 Curriculum aligned with Indiana Academic Standards

This program is often a strong fit for students who need more structure, individualized attention, or a learning environment that allows them to build both skills and confidence as they progress.

MicroSchool is currently enrolling for the 2026–2027 school year and participates in both the Indiana School Choice Scholarship and Education Savings Account (ESA) programs for eligible families. Call (812) 401-2900 to learn more.

Why Early Academic Support Matters

Starting support early in the school year can make a meaningful difference. It helps students adjust to new expectations, strengthen study habits, and address academic gaps before they become larger challenges later in the year. This is why getting an academic evaluation at the beginning of the year is so important—it gives a clear picture of where a student stands right now, so support can be targeted and effective from day one.

Building foundational skills and confidence early helps students feel more prepared—not just academically, but emotionally—as they settle into the school year.
