Emojis are probably the most simple way of displaying emotions. Who hasn't used one in a text? These symbols can also create some fun learning activities for kids.
Emoji Charades
Print off several emojis. Cut them into playing-card size. Turn them face down in a pile. Tell child(ren) they will pick a card and act out the emotion.
Mixed Up Emotions
On a sheet of paper, pick several emoji emotions and scramble the letters. Child(ren) has to unscramble the emotions and then draw the emoji.
Play dough Emojis
Using yellow and other play dough colors, first ask child(ren) to create a yellow flat circle. Then give them an emotion to display with other colors on the yellow playdough.
Match The Emojis
Print off several emojis. Cut them into two, three or four pieces. Mix the pieces up. Ask child(ren) to assemble the pieces into an emoji.
What's Your Emotion?
Give your child(ren) situations where they would show a certain emotion, i.e. a birthday party, dark room, broken toy. Have them draw the emoji to show their feeling during that situation.
