Don't Eat That Candy -- Play With It!

October 18, 2026

Too much candy?  Maybe some not-so-favorites? Play a game!

Dice & Swap Games

  • Candy Bar Dice Game: Place full-sized candy bars in the center of a circle. Players take turns rolling dice. Rolling a 7, an 11, or doubles allows a player to grab a candy bar from the center or steal one from someone else.
  • Candy Swap Dice Game: Use a printed instruction sheet, dice, and small pieces of candy. Players roll to pass, swap, or collect pieces from the pot until time runs out. [1, 2]

Minute-to-Win-It Challenges

  • Candy Suck: Use a flexible straw to suction and transfer loose candies from a table to a plate within 60 seconds.
  • Candy Stack: Stack upright candies (like Smarties) as high as possible in one minute without letting them fall.
  • Jawbreaker Roll: Roll jawbreakers or round candies down a small ramp into a target bucket in 60 seconds. [1]

Learning & STEM Activities

  • STEM Structure Building: Use soft gummy candies or marshmallows paired with toothpicks or pretzel sticks to build bridges and towers.
  • Sorting & Graphing: Categorize candy by color, type, or chocolate vs. non-chocolate to practice counting, patterns, and bar graphs.
  • Bingo Markers: Use small candies like M&Ms or Skittles as game markers for classroom or family BINGO. [1, 2]
